College Work #7 - Recipe

Ingredients

• 1 (16 ounce) package lasagna noodles
• 1 pound fresh mushrooms, sliced
• 3/4 cup chopped green bell pepper
• 3/4 cup chopped onion
• 3 cloves garlic, minced
• 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
• 2 (26 ounce) jars pasta sauce
• 1 teaspoon dried basil
• 1 (15 ounce) container part-skim ricotta cheese
• 4 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
• 2 eggs
• 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Directions

1. Cook the lasagna noodles in a large pot of boiling water for 10 minutes, or until al dente. Rinse with cold water, and drain.
2. In a large saucepan, cook and stir mushrooms, green peppers, onion, and garlic in oil. Stir in pasta sauce and basil; bring to a boil. Reduce heat, and simmer 15 minutes.
3. Mix together ricotta, 2 cups mozzarella cheese, and eggs.
4. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Spread 1 cup tomato sauce into the bottom of a greased 9x13 inch baking dish. Layer 1/2 each, lasagna noodles, ricotta mix, sauce, and Parmesan cheese. Repeat layering, and top with remaining 2 cups mozzarella cheese.
5. Bake, uncovered, for 40 minutes. Let stand 15 minutes before serving.

College Work #6 - Survey And Research Report

How long do you spend on Facebook a day?

A survey was carried out on 29th of March 2012 from 8.30p.m. to 9.10 p.m at LR4 Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS. The respondents were 3 females and 31 males of 1 international and 22 local student of various races. I wanted to know how long do students spend their time on Facebook a day. From the survey, I can conclude that 20 percent of students are not active on Facebook. Meanwhile 54 percent of students spend less than 6 hours on Facebook a day. On the other hand, 26 percent of students spend more than 6 hours on Facebook a day.

I can conclude that 80 percent of students spend their time on social webs such as Facebook, Twitter, and many others. Here we can say that social webs gives a huge impact on students daily life. Students should manage time properly so that students will not neglect their studies. Students must nit be too addicted to social webs as they are addicted and students might neglect their studies.

Women Should Quit Working After Delivering

Why should women quit working after delivering a baby? I strongly disagree with the statement. When it comes to making a decision about being unemployed after delivering there are many issues to consider. Women today have different circumstances from when their mother or grandmother were pregnant, with more working full or part-time and many couples relying on two wages to support their commitments. Essentially, modern life has created increasing pressure on pregnant women to continue working after their delivery. Hereby I came out with a new statement, women should stop working instead og quit working.

Women will be very weak after delivering a baby and there is a few things women should do after delivery. First and foremost, women should consume healthy and nutritious food. A new mother should consume food rich in iron, vitamin C and many others. A new mother can also take supplement prescribed by the doctor. Besides that, a new mother should not do heavy works such as carrying heavy loads, cleaning the house. Instead they should have a good rest as their body will be very weak. Moreover, a new mother should also do some light exercise such as yoga to take care of the body.

Women must not urge to go back to work as the body is not completely healthy after the delivery of a baby. A new mother can only go back to work in within of 30 to 40 days of rest. This step must be taken to ensure that the body has fully recharged to work in a hectic environment. Maternity leave was given to women who delivers and therefore a new mother must grab the opportunity to rest so that the body can be as healthy as before.

A new mother that has return to work must take some important preecaution so that she will not hurt herself. Examples of precaution that must be taken is a new mother should not carry heavy loads as the uterus might collapse if she is carrying a heavy load. Besides that, a new mother should not squat down if something fell to the floor or to tske things from a very high place. This is mainly because the uterus is not healed and will cause the uterus to collapse. A new mother should not skip meals at the work place even if there is a lot of task to do. Meals are very important as a new mother is already weak and lack of nutrition.

In conclusion, I can conclude that it is not a necessity to quit working. But a new mother must get enough rest and consume a lot of nutritious food to repair all the cells and recharge the body. Why must a woman sacrifice  doing something they love in work for the sake of delivering a baby. A new mother can still do the things they love at their work place.

Zombie

What is a zombie? A zombie is an undead creature regularly encountered in horror and fantasy themed work. They are typically depicted as mindless, reanimated corpse with a hunger for human flesh, and perticularly for human brains in some depiction. In other words, a zombie is an animated corpse brought back to life by mystical means, such as witchcraft. The term is often figuratively applied to describe a hypnotized person berefit of consciousness and self-awareness, yet ambulant and able to respond to surrounding stimuli.

In west of Africa, according to the tenets of Vodou, a dead person can be revived by a bokor, or  sorcerer. Zombies remain under control of the bokor since they have no will of their own. It is believed that after some time God will take back the soul back and so the zombi is a temporary spiritual entity. In the south of Africa, some communities believe that a dead person can be turned into a zombie by a small child. In Haiti aound 1937, Hurston encountered the case of a woman who appeared in a village, and a family claimed she was Felicia Felix-Mentor, a relative who had died and been buried in 1907 at the age of 29.Hurston persued rumours that the affected person wes given a powerful psychoative drug, but she was unable to locate individuals willing to offer much information.

The origin of zombies is well understood today, but this wasn't the case when they were first discovered in the early 1800s. Darwin was the first to recognize that zombie 'reproduction' in a process of descent with modification in a way analogous to that of non-undead species. Darwin's insight was that, even though zombie's don't reproduce sexually, random mutations in hereditary material can be passed along after a zombie bite. Each 'daughter zombie' then inherits the traits of their parents and pass those traits along to their victim in turn.

There are zombies attack in a few places such as China, America, and others. One of the major zombies attack is in United States when a heavy storm hit United States, made landfall at Key West. As day turned to night, heavy rains and winds over 150 miles an hour rolled over the island, destroying virtually everything standing. Amid the  destructions, infected rats began roaming the island, and by the morning, the first of the zombies appeared. The islanders had no way to escape. Scores of people drowned when they chose to leap into the choppy surf than face the voracious zombies. A total of 3500 people were infected and destroyed.

There are a few film based on zombies such as Frankenstein, Night of  the Living Dead, and others. In conclusion, the existance of zombie is yet to be doubt as there is not much evident proving that zombies exist in the world. However, we cannot deny the history of zombies accept that zombies exist probably centuries ago.

College Work #4 - Newspaper Report

Zombie Spotted In IRC

23 February - A zombie was spotted in the Information Resources Centre, Universiti Teknologi Petronas, a prominent private engineering and technology university 350 km northern of Kuala Lumpur, the capital city of Malaysia. The zombie was spotted about an hour past midnight browsing through the books in the IRC by a group of boys that stayed up to study outside the IRC. 

One of the five boys claimed that the zombie is about 5 feet tall with red eyes. One of the boys passed out as he saw the zombie. Nevertheless, the another 4 boys went to capture the image of the zombie through their cellphone but the image of the zombie was not seen in their cellphone. The cctv recording did not show any moving images in the IRC. The group of boys are detainedby the local police for futhur information. Any other witness that witnesses the situation can ring the local police at 05-5555 599.

College Work #1 - Reply Of A Love Letter

Dear John,

I am doing very fine. Thank you for your concern. It is a suprise to receive your letter after so long. Of course I remember you, you were my college mate and the person who breaks my heart into tiny pieces. Indeed, I remembered what you did to me 33 years ago. The pain still hurt eventhough it had been 33 years. It is not that easy to forget what you did to me. After you left me, I struggled throughout my college life. You don't know how painful it was. You should try standing in my shoes.

Why do you only learn to cherish your precious after 33 years but not back into the college days? It is too late to change things. 33 years is not a short period of time but a lot of things happen in within these years. But it is nice to hear that you learned the lesson at last. How I wish if you learned the lesson back in the college days.

How come you said you were lonely without me by your side? Remember who dumped who back in the college days? I remember I was begging you not to leave but instead you slapped me right on my face real hard. I cried and cried for days and months. I searched high and low for you but you went missing in action. I lose some weight and fell ill for weeks.

I am glad that you found your love, Victoria. I bet you both must be a very loving couple. I remember you giving me  a bouquet of roses for my birthday. You are indeed a very romantic man, and she must be very lucky to be married to you. I am sad for you that Victoria has been murdered by a group of gangsters. I know how it feels when you lose someone you really love. I have been in your shoes. It is similar to the feeling I had when you left me.

How are your children now? Are they in the pink pink health? I bet they must be missing their mother really much. I am sad for them that they lose their mother at such young age. My mother passed away when I was 13 and I was tremendouly sad. I know exactly how they feel.

I don't think I can be your partner in your life anymore. I do not have the feelings like I used to back in the college days. I do not want history to happen again as I have learnt my lesson after you left me 33 years ago. I have promised myself that I will not fall for any man. I hope you will understand my situation. You left a scar in my heart which is impossible to cure. But we can still be friends. I think that is all for now. Till then.

College Work #2 - Narrative Essay

A lot of things are running in my head as I am on my journey back to Kuala Lumpur to receive my SPM (Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia) results. I already had a sense of palpitation since a week ago. I can feel the butterflies in my stomach and I couldn't explain how nervous I am. At the same time, I am tremendously happy to meet my friends again after a few months of school holidays. On the whole journey home, I usually enjoy the sight of the palm trees along the highway but on that particular day, I could only see the faces of my parents. My parents put a very high hope on their youngest daughter as my elder sister scored very well for her SPM Examination. Meanwhile, I also hope to receive an excellent result.

The night before I receive my SPM results, I could hardly close my eyes and sleep. I started counting sheeps and yet I could not fall asleep. After hours and hours of rolling and tossing in the bed, I decided to run downstairs to get a cup of warm milk. At the staircase, I could hear my parents talking about my future. I eavesdropped their conversation. I know deep in my heart, I really want to make them proud of me. They have been sacrificing a lot for me. My father had spent a lot to buy revision books for me and meanwhile my mother had given up her job to send me to school everyday.I forget about my cup of warm milk and ran back into my room. A lot of things started to manipulate me. How if I did not get an exceleent results? How if I did not fulfill my parents' wishes? Cold sweat started to flow behing my neck.

I have no idea how but I fell asleep at last. I woke up the next morning with a nightmare. I dreamt that I failed my Additional Mathematics paper and I have a few B's for my SPM. I woke up crying as I am really terrified.  I went to my laptop straight away and google search the meaning of the nightmare I dreamt. And Google says, "This dream usually manifests itself in people who are no longer students. In the dream they fail the test because they are unable to finish the test on time, they could miss equipment, or they can't find the test room. He/she is unprepared for something". I started to sense something bad but I am still hoping for the best. I can do nothing but pray for the best.

My parents volunteer to send me to scholl to take the results. Instead I decided to go by myself. I promised to my parents to call back once I get my results. On the way to school, I came across some of my schoolmates. We started talking about school and bow nervous we are to receive our results. When I reached school, I can see a lot of my friends. Some of my friends are with their parents, but most of them came by themselves. Everyone looked very nervous. I have butterflies in my stomach and I can feel the cold sweat behing my neck.

The principal came to the canteen to call us to gather in the school's hall. Some of us started screaming and crying. In the hall, the principal congratulate all of us. I can see the teachers smiling form ear to ear. The principal started the ceremony by calling the 8 A's students. My friends are called up the stage to take their results. I wonder if I am one of the lucky one. To my suprise, my name is called. I went up to stage and took my results with joy. Altough I did not manage to get straight A's for my SPM Examination but I have tried my best. I am grateful with the results I got. Straight away, I called my parents and they were happy to hear that I received an excellent result. I am happy that all my hard work is paid off.
